Two Offenses to Invest in this Season
Investing in high octane offenses is a safe, yet reliable strategy to put yourself in the best position possible to win your fantasy league. Here are two offenses managers should select players from in order to maximize their chances of winning their respective leagues.
In order to win your league, there’s no doubt you need to take risks. However, knowing the right time to take them and knowing the right time to play it safe are equally important. One of the best strategies to use when you get into those “Who do I take here?” moments, is to simply select players who come from high achieving offenses. We’ve seen this work countless times in years past: 2017 Saints, who had Mark Ingram, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas, and even this past year’s Eagles offense with Barkley, Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and AJ Brown. These are just two of several examples where drafting players on known high scoring offenses yielded tremendous fantasy results. With that being said, here are two high flying offenses to invest in during the 2025 NFL season:

Detroit Lions:
This should be an absolute no brainer. Last season the Lions finished first in points per game at 33.2 and second in yards per game at 409.5, trailing only the Ravens. Yet despite these eye-popping numbers, numerous members of the media have expressed doubt on the Lions offense this year due Ben Johnson jumping ship to become the head coach of their NFC North division rival Chicago Bears. While losing Johnson isn’t meaningless, you should absolutely expect this Lions offense to continue to be a juggernaut. Not only do they have a great tandem in the backfield, nicknamed “Sonic and Knuckles,” in Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, respectively, they continue to come at you with studs like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and even downfield and gadget threat Jameson Williams. All five of these guys plus Jared Goff, who finished fourth in the league with 37 passing touchdowns in the 2024 season, make for an offense that has weapons quite literally everywhere you look. If you have the opportunity to do so, the Detroit Lions offense is one worth investing in.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
When looking at the Buccaneers going into the 2025 NFL season, they can only be categorized as having an embarrassment of riches. Last year, they finished fourth in points per game and third in yards per game. One of several components that makes this offense an absolute machine is their ability to mix young talent with their established veterans. On the young side you have a guy in Bucky Irivng, whose dynamic and shifty ability both in the run game and out of the backfield can make him look like a joystick. You also have rookie first round receiver Emeka Egbuka out of Ohio State. On Egbuka, Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard said, “Even though there is an expectation with him coming in as a first round pick, he’s even exceeded that.” Mix those two young studs in with already established stars in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and it’s easy to see why this offense projects as one of the league’s best going into 2025. Despite early career struggles, QB Baker Mayfield has completely revived his career with the Bucs. After throwing a whopping 41 TDs in 2024, expect Baker to continue building upon the foundation he has set the past two seasons. If you have the opportunity to do so, make sure one or more of these dynamic playmakers ends up on your fantasy team this season.
