Week 10: Possible Breakout

As we enter week 10, it’s likely that you find yourself in a crucial matchup with the intention of moving towards a first round bye, solidifying your playoff spot, or maybe even just trying to avoid your league’s punishment. However, with four teams on bye this week including fantasy heavy teams like the Cowboys, Bengals, and Chiefs, your path to success this week just got a lot more challenging. 

In this article we’ll dive into our possible breakout of week 10. A reminder that the intention of possible breakout is to provide you with a player that is likely on a roster, but likely isn’t a starter and could thus be had for a rather cheap price on the trade market. With that being said, let’s take a look at this week’s player.

Wan’Dale Robinson

Although he doesn’t get very much praise for it, Robinson has quietly posted a very impressive season, especially of late. Over the past four weeks, he’s averaged just a little over 11 fantasy points per game in half PPR formats. This week, he gets a matchup against a Chicago Bears defense who has allowed 72 combined points in just the past two weeks alone. 

As Bears fans will tell you, despite their 5-3 record, they are not a very good team. They’ve won a majority of their games in some type of ugly fashion, as neither side of the ball is truly sound. With that, it gives this depleted New York Giants offense an opportunity to put some points on the board early and often. 

In last week’s loss to the 49ers, the Giants appeared lackluster and defeated all throughout the game. Yet even despite this, Robinson caught 9 passes on 11 targets, albeit for only 46 yards. But as one of my best friends once told me, “Bad targets are still targets.” This week, Robinson will get an even greater opportunity to turn those targets into meaningful fantasy production.
