Another week, another brutal injury. This time Commanders’ QB Jayden Daniels twisted his left arm in a direction for which you didn’t need to attend medical school to know is an absolutely brutal and gruesome injury. Whether we, as fantasy football players, would like to admit this or not, there is an enormous amount of luck involved in fantasy football. That’s not to say that preparation and research are useless. But you can do all the preparation you want, and if your first round pick tears his ACL (sorry Malik Nabers owners) then all that time you spent goes down the drain. This year, perhaps more than any other in recent memory, is almost entirely dependent upon injury luck. That’s not to take away from this year's eventual league champions, but the reality is that as the regular season hits those crucial final 5 weeks, you need to be able to field some type of viable team, and injuries have made that nearly impossible for many managers. Let’s see who can help you reach that viable standard heading into week 10.

Colston Loveland Stats, News and Video - TE | NFL.com

Colston Loveland

Finally!!! One of my favorite sleeper picks from the preseason has finally shown a pulse! Going into the season, I would’ve confidently told you to draft Loveland over fellow rookie Tyler Warren (yes I’m very very sorry about that). While that take is admittedly one of my biggest misses of the season, I’m pleased to put Loveland on this list as I truly believe he has awoken and will be a top 8 fantasy TE for the remainder of the season. During the Bears’ win over the Bengals on Sunday, in what some are calling the game of the year, Loveland posted a 6-118-2 receiving line. For much of the season, Loveland has been bogged down by having to share primary TE duties with Cole Kmet. After Kmet exited Sunday’s game with a concussion, Loveland had every opportunity to prove that he should be the Bears’ TE1 moving forward, and he did not disappoint. While we wouldn’t expect Kmet’s injury to sideline him for too long, Loveland’s breakout has undoubtedly earned him more playing time, and I’m personally very excited to see what he can continue to do with the opportunity.

New England Patriots WR Gets Honest About Stiff Competition

DeMario Douglas

A few weeks ago, I put Douglas and fellow Patriots’ WR Kayshon Boutte on this exact list within the same entry. It’s the only time all season I’ve placed two players together, and my reasoning was simple: due to Drake Maye’s emergence as a legitimate MVP candidate, at least one of these guys will be fantasy relevant on a weekly basis. For the previous three weeks, that honor went to Boutte. However, after he exited Sunday’s win over the Falcons with a hamstring injury, thus leaving his week 10 status up in the air, Douglas took over with a 4-100-1 receiving line. As we as NFL fans know, hamstring injuries can linger. Even if Boutte is able to play through his injury in week 10, there’s no way he’ll be at 100%. That opens the door for Douglas to continue developing his connection with Drake Maye, thus making him a must add ahead of a week 10 date with Tampa Bay, a game that could feature a boatload of points.
