He set Tennessee's single-season rushing record on the way to 2024 SEC Offensive Player of the Year, then averaged 2.7 yards a carry as a Brown, worst among 65 backs with 50-plus carries. The receiving side is where he fit: a target on 28% of his routes, 2nd among running backs, on a 23% snap share.

As a rookie Taylor led the Jets in targets and receptions on an 80.6% snap share, catching passes from three different quarterbacks. His work came almost entirely from a short-area tree, a 5.94 aDOT built on quick-outs and hitch-curls, with the in-breaking seam routes barely on his menu. Efficiency lagged that volume; his 59.6 PFF grade ranked 31st of 37 qualified tight ends, the rookie tax his snap count absorbed. A managed neck injury cost him Week 9 and the final four games, and the front office ruled out anything long-term.

He took 54 sacks, the most in football, and once you set the scrambling aside his passing landed 22nd among qualified starters. The slowest pace in the league dropped him to 29.6 attempts a game, down from the 39-plus he threw his first three seasons, and that volume cut was the main fantasy drag. His legs covered a lot of it: 498 rush yards at 6.0 a carry, most of it improvised, with a league-best 11.9 yards per scramble that showed up most on third down.
